This month our general meeting will be a very different one. We are trying to build a social activity into our

traditional monthly event. JoAnn Heyer has arranged for a rather varied meal contributed by our members and our Society to be the center of our meeting. In addition, we will have a Mini-Auction of some very attractive

bromeliad items donated by several members and some special plants the Society has been keeping under covers for the occasion. This is to raise funds for the 2007

Extravaganza we are in line to host next fall. Closing of the event, Jay Thurrott will show us his photos of the San Diego Conference and talk to us about forcing blooms.

The next mega event, as you know, is the 2006

Extravaganza to take place at the Miccosukee Resort on September 30 hosted this year by the Bromeliad Society of South Florida. Several of our members are preparing to participate. We hope many will take advantage of the occasion and bring their good plants for sale. The Society will take a place where all members will be together under our banner and take turns in showing, selling and managing the table. More information in the ad
