Field Trip February 2nd, 2008

Education is one of the main purposes of our club. We are fortunate to have had a financially successful participation in the Extravaganza 07. One of the benefits to our members could be exposure to Bromeliads growing under different circumstances. Our President has asked me to chair a Special Events Committee. I am recommending two trips. I am also suggesting the fee for the charter buses be paid for out of the general funds , according to our by-laws this must be voted on by the general membership as it entails over $200.00.

The first trip will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008. We will visit Bullis Bromeliads , a very large Commercial venture in South Miami, not usually open to hobbyists. They have a large array of unusual hybrids. Note: Plants will be sold at retail that day. We are sure to be amazed at the development since we started visiting 30yrs ago. We will also visit the green house of Dr Karl and Kris Green who collect Species; same location as Bullis. Then, We are privliedged to visit the exquisite garden of Dr. Jeffrey Block and his wife Michelle. We are anxious to see the garden changes since our last tour 12 years ago.

If possible of not miss this opportunity to improve and expand your knowledge.
