On the Front Cover

Guzmania sanguinea var. sanguinea

The moderately large, but expansive and fairly inconspicuous green rosette changes the color of the inner leaves to a warm golden yellow and a fire-red during the blooming period. The species grows low and may reach 60cm in diameter. The pups develop laterally from the center of the rosette. When blooming the small

yellow flowers last approx. 10 days. This plant is quite spectacular in color. The one on the cover is grown by Bud Hendrix.
