One striking feature of their backyard is their collection of Aechmeas set against a fence under newly planted palms in  well designed, attractive spaces.  Notice the good spacing and the use of height to display the plants

Below, in two close ups, part of the collection includes a large Androlepis Skinnerii x Ursulea McVaughii on the right, two of its pups, two Ae. Bracteatas, one in bloom, in the back, an Ae. Phanaerophlebia in the cemter. Garden objects and colorful pots on stumps and trunk pieces add interest to the setting.

In a corner of the pool area, another group of Aechmeas  different sizes and color are set in double pots. Although an Ae. Blanchetiana

Dominates, the small palm in the back adds depth. Nice spot for the Alwells to relax in the afternoon.
