About our Guest Speaker

Tom joined the Bromeliad Guild of Tampa Bay in 1965. Over the years he  has held many positions in the Guild including serving as President  six times. Tom has always been instrumental in encouraging and working  with the BGTB members to present annual bromeliad shows, participating  in community shows and sales to promote bromeliads, refurbishing  bromeliad beds at Lowry Park Zoo, Eureka Springs Park, and Ybor City  Museum State Park. Tom helps create displays at the Florida State Fair  annually promoting bromeliads and club members pass out literature to  thousands of attendees. Tom has served as Chairman of the Florida  Council of Bromeliad Societies several times.   Tom was General Chairman of the successful 1992 World Bromeliad  Conference, “Bromeliad Safari”, hosted by the Bromeliad Guild of Tampa  Bay at Saddlebrook Golf & Tennis Resort. Because of Tom’s leadership,  the Club was able to make contributions to the Florida Council of  Bromeliad Societies,                         Continued………...
