I entered 25 plants and went home to collapse and cry from exhaustion and  bleeding hands. Friday and the dawning of a new day. I didn’t want to hear the word Bromeliad again. About 10 pm. Maureen Frazell called to tell me I had won a silver for Bromelioides. I couldn’t believe it. Sat. morning returned to Fairchild to help sell plants. Stopped into the display area and what to my surprise were many ribbons of different colors on my plants. 5 firsts, 6 seconds, 2 honorable mentions and most prized of all my rosette and silver tray for Cryptanthus Bromelioides. I have the plants home now and am protecting them from wind, rain, sun and everything else that may harm them. Who knows, may be their offspring will be successful next year or the year after.

The time has past so quickly and I did not mention it in the last Scurf, but your membership dues were due by January 31st. Please remember your membership dues are what keep our non-profit organization afloat;
